Palmer High School Link Crew, the national organization that aims to guide incoming freshmen between the transition of middle school and high school. The group of 80 students worked together the day before the Freshman’s arrival preparing with an array of team building exercises and getting the logistics of the next day confirmed and ready. Teams also communicated about scenarios of what it means to be and think like a leader. Link crew also went above and beyond by personally introducing themselves to their Freshman groups and parents via email, phone calls and text messages. The day of orientation Link crew members worked to establish school culture and engage the students with their new environment and peers.
Teams paired up and got to interact with each other through various activities and icebreakers. This year Link Crew members were allowed to take their groups off campus for lunch to help expose them to the downtown life they’re now apart of! After lunch leaders helped their groups walk through their schedules to get familiar with staff and classmates before returning home. Link Crew was a huge success thanks to the determined team Palmer had. Parents, staff as well as students were grateful for the effort Link Crew put forward this year even with all of the obstacles that they were presented with. Thank you to Mrs. Fletcher, Mr. Mcleod and Mr. Ward for all of their hard work that they put in to make this the best event they could as well! Another thank you Link Crew for your contributions to Palmer!
