As students at Palmer High School, we are a part of the downtown
community, and it is important that we respect downtown businesses. This
may mean having basic manners at food places while having lunch off
campus, or maybe even just picking up after yourself when in shops or
walking around near the school.
A business owner who works here at Palmer says, “small businesses
use their life earned money…they are the foundation of Colorado Springs”.
They also say that small businesses’ profits stay in Colorado Springs helping
fund it. While not all downtown businesses are small businesses and their
business isn’t in close proximity of Palmer, they tell us that respecting
businesses can help make employees’ jobs easier.
While on lunch, during free periods, and after school hours we may
want to enjoy ourselves and roam downtown but please make sure to:
1. Be respectful,
2. Be responsible, and
3. Be considerate.
You never know the kind of day somebody is having!
