Spotify has been one of the most well-used streaming music platforms. At the end of every year since its popularity they’ve made a “wrapped,” which is a recap of your most played songs and artists. Usually, the reception of everyone’s Spotify Wrapped is positive, but this year, why are many people upset about it?
On December 4 of this year, Spotify released everyone’s wrapped for this year. It was revealed afterward that Spotify used AI (artificial intelligence) to make people’s wrapped playlists. Spotify claimed to do this to “make your 2024 wrapped even more personal”. However, people interpreted this as Spotify being lazy and not being able to do it on their own.
“No, I know didn’t they used AI. That’s crazy.” Said Conner Kuhns, a first-year student at Palmer High School.
Other than using AI, people noticed that their top five artists and songs weren’t that accurate to what they listened to all year.
“It is spectacular and very accurate indubitably. It may have lost the plot; it was a quite shock of events.” Conner remarked. “My top five artists are Eminem, 50Cent, Post Malone, Dr. Dre, and Rihanna.”
In conclusion, the 2024 Spotify Wrapped had some unexpected results, but people were satisfied with their results. Hopefully, next year’s will be better and not have too much AI involved.
