Spring sports are starting up at Palmer High School, and Palmer’s track and field has already had successes during their first meet. The meet was hosted by Palmer at Garry Barry Stadium on Saturday, 3/9/24. While there had been snow and bad weather the day before, Saturday was clear and sunny, with a little breeze. It was perfect running weather, and the athletes used that to their advantage. Athletes Kelsey Calhoun, Owen Church, and Killian Howarth took first and second places in both the boys’ and girls’ 3200, and athlete Reilly O’boylle took third overall in the girls’ open 800. While Doherty High School won the meet overall, many of Palmer’s athletes had successful races, and as the season goes on performances will continue to improve!
